Wim Grootscholten has been using Aquanex Measuring
Unit Fluid for many years. "This fluid saves us a considerable
amount of money in maintenance costs each year," he says when
asked about his experience of using the product. "Humidity
Control is vitally important to growing a quality product. Before
we started using Aquanex it was habit
to check our measuring units weekly to prevent problems with the
humidity control due to incorrect measurements." Wim Grootscholten
is co-founder of the Rainbow Growers Group, and together with his
two sons grows 160,000 sq. metres of sweet peppers.
His son Patrick, who runs one of the companies, is also an Aquanex
enthusiast. "It's a problem-free solution, algae growth and
impurities have completely disappeared, and the measuring units
look like new since we started using Aquanex."
That is why, as a matter of course, Aquanex

are used by all members of the Rainbow Growers Group.

"I
was quite sceptical to start with. I had tried so many products,
but nothing helped. Therefore, when I heard of this solution that
had been proven without doubt to work, I really wanted to try it
out. Sure enough, it worked! Not only do I no longer need to check
my measuring units, (apart from topping them up once every six weeks),
I am assured of accurate measurements without having to worry about
unnecessary heating costs or an over dry climate."
"I immediately started using Aquanex
in all measuring units and I haven't regretted it for a minute.
After about two weeks the Aquanex Wicks
became blocked with impurities that had been left in the reservoir.
Aquanex dissolved all the impurities
and they were immediately transported into the wick. After replacing
wicks and fluid the matter was solved. That was the last time that
I had to check on the system! This is obviously not a cheap product,
but you can't expect more than you pay for, as we've discovered."

From now on, the South
Netherlands Agricultural Research Establishment is going to use
Aquanex products as standard in all
its measuring units. They have come to this decision after in-depth
research with Aquanex for over six
months.
"The experience with Aquanex products
shows us that not only is less time lost to maintenance, but also
that measurements are more reliable. The latter has the great advantage
of reducing unnecessary heating", says Hesen. The biggest problems
in the maintenance of the measuring units have always been the growth
of algae in the water reservoir. The algae die down and block the
wick (which should be keeping the sensor for the relative humidity
wet), causing the measurement to be inaccurate. Aquanex
Measuring Unit Fluid prevents the growth of algae in the
measuring units.
Consequently, the most important cause of wick blockage is counteracted.
The other important cause of wick blockage is dust. Because the
measuring unit's fan constantly blows air through the unit, the
dust passing through is deposited in the reservoir. Aquanex
Measuring Unit Fluid interacts with the material of the special
Aquanex Wicks, so that the capillaries
within it, which transport the fluid, slowly become wider. It is
not unusual for a wick to last for half a year. Aquanex
also prevents particles of dust blocking the capillaries for a similar
period of time.

"In summer the reservoir runs dry every one and a half
to two weeks. Inevitably, the wick also has to be replaced. Now
I go more than a month with the same wick and it still looks in
top condition. I'm not using any less fluid, but I feel a lot more
confident about my measurements than before!"
"I never thought I had a problem, as I walk past the climate
control monitor a couple of times a day anyway, just to keep an
eye on things. Now I'm using Aquanex,
I don't have to keep an eye on it any more. Now, one thing I'm sure
of; if the RH reads 100%, the reservoir is empty. All I have to
do then is visit all measuring units, refill the reservoirs and
the matter is resolved."
